Annual APA Convention Protest Celebrities were out in force to speak out against coercive psychiatric drugging of children at the annual American Psychiatric convention, held in San Francisco. Monro Lead Singer/Songwriter Alison Monro of her band Monro has placed a featured song for a movie soundtrack of the film The Job. The film is due out this summer and stars Daryl Hannah, Brad Renfro and Dominique Swain. Alison wrote the song in collaboration with Ric Roccapriore, which was produced by Randy Cash of Elektra Records. Elisabeth Moss Actress Elisabeth Moss is currently playing the title role of Franny in Richard Nelson’s “Franny’s Way” at the Geffen Playhouse. She also just completed filming Ron Howard’s The Missing, with Cate Blanchett and Tommy Lee Jones. She can be seen starring in Virgin, premiering at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Elisabeth also just completed her fourth season on the NBC Drama The West Wing, playing the daughter of Martin Sheen’s President. Tyler Hynes Canadian Actor and Gemini Award-nominee Tyler Hynes won a supporting lead role in the feature film The Last Sign. To be filmed in Montreal, Canada, the film stars Andie MacDowell and Tim Roth. Tyler plays the son of Andie’s character. Catherine Bell Actress Catherine Bell starred in Bruce Almighty, with Jim Carrey, Jennifer Aniston and Morgan Freeman. It opened #1 in the box office at over 85 million dollars, and after 3 weeks already earned a spot in the top 100 grossing movies. Catherine is pictured at the premiere with Jim Carrey. Rob Meister Musician Rob Meister played bass on the album Hardbite, by Estonian artist Endel Rivers, which shot to #2 on the Guitar9 Rock/Fusion chart for 30 days. Also performing was Frank Zappa’s former keyboardist, Alan Zavod. Shellah Garrett Actress Shellah Garrett recently starred as Kate in a modern version of Shakespeare’s classic “The Taming of the Shrew,” set in Chicago in the 1920’s. The comedy played to sold-out houses at the Little Fish Theatre in California, to rave reviews. Ole Boskov Danish singer/songwriter Ole Boskov, a vocalist in the Hymn of Asia concert on L. Ron Hubbard Way, recently released a solo CD called “Songs in Black and White” singing 12 original songs about love and life. |
